NCF's Grow School is in Session!
Even though it’s summer, school is in session! Whether you’re just developing a green thumb or you’ve been a long-time home-grow-pro, NCF’s Grow School is one class you won’t want to cut. Designed to answer questions about growing from seeds, supplies, and sustainability, the Grow School includes six different discussions taking place throughout the festival day.
Panelists range from Master Grower Kathryn Rust to CEO of Hudson Hemp, Ben Dobson. They’ll address topics ranging from the basics of beginning to grow, to the global climate ramifications of the cannabis industry. Some of the highlights of the day include a comprehensive rundown of all things hemp, (did you know that it can be used to create sustainable concrete? Yeah, we didn’t either…) the past, present, and future of commercial cannabis cultivation, and how to use organic regenerative farming to combat the climate crisis.
On a local level, there will also be a panel that addresses the future of D.C. cannabis, covering the ins and outs of the D.C. programs. You’ll also hear from the business end of things, with a panel on getting a job in the cannabis industry.
Thirsty for more knowledge? Join panelists from NY Small Farma to learn more about the ways that the cannabis industry is working to create a more inclusive work environment across the nation. If you’re looking to dig your roots in even further, early evening panels will discuss cannabis breeding & genetics.
We guarantee you’ll come away from Grow School with a higher understanding of the cannabis industry and a deep-seeded desire to get your hands dirty.
