Artist Spotlight: Meet Footwerk

Footwerk began his music journey when he moved to DC from England at age 13.

Upon graduating from high school, he applied and was accepted into Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts. While in England, he began DJ-ing and helped more established artists with equipment, set-up and other parts of live performance. In 2009, he returned to D.C. and founded Footwerk, a dynamic moody, melodic hip-hop vibe complimented by on-screen graphics and images.

Catch Footwerk as he opens up the festival live on the Main Stage on Saturday, April 20th!
