Celebrate Yourself: Special Interest Lounges at NCF

Whether you're a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, a veteran, or a senior who uses cannabis, there is a special place for you at NCF! This year we’ll have three lounge spaces where you can connect with others, learn new things, and celebrate yourself. Keep reading to learn more:

The Washington Blade LGBTQIA+ Lounge

New this year, The Washington Blade LGBTQIA+ Lounge is sure to be one of the most popular and vibrant spaces at the festival. This lounge is a space where members and allies of the queer community can gather and celebrate. The lounge is staffed by members of the community, ensuring that everyone who enters the space feels welcomed and accepted for being their authentic selves.

NORML’s “Heart Pins” from the Coming Out Green Collection

While you’re in the lounge, stop by the NORML table to grab a Heart Pin from the Coming Out Green Collection.

With a variety of activities, like the selfie station, all visitors can have a moment to shine and serve queer cannabis goodness!

Want to network with new friends and advocates? Come by at 5 pm for the LGBTQIA+ Advocates Mixer. Whether you're looking to dance, make new friends, or simply relax and enjoy the company of others, the Washington Blade LGBTQIA+ Lounge is the place to be!

The Veterans Lounge hosted by Balanced Veterans and Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America

The Veterans Lounge, hosted by Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America and Balanced Veterans Network, is a place where veterans can come together and share their experiences with one another. It features programming that is designed to promote healing and recovery with activities like yoga, meditation, and group discussions. There are opportunities for veterans who are looking for additional support to connect with local resources and the sponsor organizations.

For our Veteran guests looking for chill vibes or a drink of water, the Lounge is designed for you!

The Seniors Lounge

The Seniors Lounge is the place where NCF’s Golden Buds connect! Grab a seat and some refreshments between laps of the festival grounds.

In addition, the Seniors Lounge will house the team from HIPS, an organization that works to reduce the harms associated with drug use and sex work. They’ll be onsite to assist any attendee in need of space or non-medical emergency harm reduction services.

The three special interest lounges at the NCF show the power and diversity of the cannabis community. Make sure you stop by one (or all!) of these special interest lounges. You won't regret it!
