Carmin Ruggiero on Nature, Nurture and Organic Growing Practices
I grew up all over the place but primarily Texas, Pennsylvania and Ohio. I’ve lived In DC longer than any other place In my life (21yrs)
I’ve been In the cannabis Industry for 30 years, but really since birth. My parents were consumers and amateur growers, so I basically grew up with cannabis around me my whole life. My mother even let me eat the seeds when I was a child. I’ve been a grower for a little over 25 years and a consumer for slightly longer. Not coming from the wealthiest of backgrounds and born with a “green thumb” my love for the medicine and desire to not pay for It lead me down a path I never anticipated. I’ve grown on both coasts, Indoor and out, been a hash maker, oil maker, advocate, broker and healer.
“Seeing all the pollinating and predatory Insects (nature) visiting and cleaning your plants of pests naturally due to strict organic practices couldn’t be more pleasing as well.”
Any grower (If they’re honest) will say that when the plants are In full flower there Is no sweeter time. The plants do most of the work and all you do Is sit back and watch all your hard work during the vegetative stage come to fruition. Seeing all the pollinating and predatory Insects (nature) visiting and cleaning your plants of pests naturally due to strict organic practices couldn’t be more pleasing as well.
“I’m looking forward to using this platform to teach people better growing practices and give constructive feedback based upon my decades of experience both as a broker and grower.”
I’m excited to judge the THC Flowers category at the National Cannabis Championship and learn more about quality growers here In the DMV. I’m looking forward to using this platform to teach people better growing practices and give constructive feedback based upon my decades of experience both as a broker and grower.
Educating people about organic growing practices is also very important to me. This plant Is meant to be grown naturally. After all, when Its organic, you never need to panic!
