Nominate Anacostia Organics in the City Paper's "Best of D.C." Contest
Each year, the Washington City Paper asks the community to vote for their favorite D.C. establishments as part of the annual “Best of D.C.” contest and this year we’re excited to share that cannabis businesses are included. From favorite head shop to favorite dispensary, area cannabis enthusiasts are chiming in.
Nestled in a storefront along Martin Luther King Avenue in D.C.’s Anacostia neighborhood, Anacostia Organics (AO) has been open since January 2019. Since opening, AO has come to provide an essential service to the Ward 8 community, welcoming patients to a vibrant, bright dispensary space walking distance from the Anacostia Metro Station.
“One of the most striking features of Anacostia Organics is the rotating art exhibit on the dispensary walls featuring work by local artists.”
Dispensary owner Linda Greene prides herself on creating an environment that reflects how she wants her patients to feel: bright, energized, and surrounded by light. You can see her intentions in the carefully curated dispensary design. One of the most striking features of Anacostia Organics is the rotating art exhibit on the dispensary walls featuring work by local artists. The gallery project is part of Greene’s effort to further highlight the talent in the Ward 8 community that she has called home for the past 4 decades. The artwork provides a brilliant splash of color against the pristine, white dispensary display cases where patients can get up-close looks at flower, concentrates and accessories.
