Pink Fox

Described as a D.C. lifestyle brand, Pink Fox was established on the belief that recreational cannabis consumption should be attainable by adults in a safe and responsible environment.

Get to know Pink Fox in this Q&A:

Pink Fox has made it their mission to provide a reliable service where, residents and visitors in the District of Columbia over the age of 21, can consume cannabis in a safe and responsible community environment as the law intends.

Talk about the mission of Pink Fox...

Pink Fox was established in 2015 in support of the then recently passed Initiative 71 legislation that allowed for adults 21 and older to use, grow, and possess cannabis in a recreational legal arena. It is a surreal environment that Washington, D.C. finds itself. The residents were asked to vote on the initiative and it passed with overwhelming response, 65% in favor.

After District residence exercised their civic voting right, a handful of individuals who do not live in the district decided that they did not like the vote outcome. Since that vote they have been, and are doing, everything in their power to undermine and delegitimize the democratic process for District residents.

Washington, D.C. residents are in a very unique situation where they are not entitled to state rights which affords some degree of autonomy from overreaching federal laws, especially as it relates to tax revenue. Pink Fox has made it their mission to provide a reliable service where, residents and visitors in the District of Columbia over the age of 21, can consume cannabis in a safe and responsible community environment as the law intends.

Pink Fox operates as a lifestyle brand with an emphasis on retail and merchandise, and there’s also an advocacy and education component with the support of Initiative 71. How important is activism and advocacy within all aspects of the cannabis industry?

It is our belief at Pink Fox that the activism and advocacy components are essential to the success and expansion of the cannabis industry. As mentioned above, legal recreational adult cannabis use has become a voting issue. There are not many issues that demand bipartisan support the way cannabis does. Capitalizing on the momentum from the National Cannabis Festival, and other advocacy events of the like, is vital.

What can we expect from Pink Fox over the next few years? (podcast expansion? Additional retail locations?)

Do we get three wishes? Pink Fox hopes to have a wide-reaching touch over the next few years. An expanded clothing line with more offerings for all shapes and sizes. An increased presence in the advocacy community by way of participation in more events like the National Cannabis Festival in Washington, D.C. and, formerly known as the Freedom Rally, festival presented by NORML in Boston, MA. Finally, Pink Fox is looking forward to expanding into brick and mortar retail space. Keep in touch by listening to the Pink Fox Podcast where we keep listeners up to date with the latest happenings at Pink Fox, you won’t want to miss anything!

What are you most excited about for the National Cannabis Festival Weekend?

This is going to be Pink Fox’s third year of participation in the National Cannabis Festival. Over the last two years we have made tons of new friends, battled the cold rainy weather, heard incredible music from local acts like Backyard Band and DJ AyesCold and international acts like De La Soul and Talib Kweli. This year we are looking forward to the expansion of the festival weekend. An added day of education and advocacy. An incredible headliner in Cypress Hill. Bring it on already!
