Smoke the Vote in 2018 #wecannavote
If you’ve watched the news at any point since last November, you’ve probably caught onto the fact that there’s a lot going on out there in the world of politics. People are polarized and nobody seems to be happy. However, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, only 61.4% of the eligible U.S. population voted in 2016. There appears to be a slight disconnect between the number of dissatisfied people and the number of people who actually turned up at the polls.
HeadCount is partnering with the National Cannabis Festival for the #WeCannaVote campaign. HeadCount is a non-partisan organization that works with musicians to promote participation in democracy and help get very voice heard. As we just saw in Virginia, one vote CAN make a difference and we are working to help people around the country get registered and get to the polls.
Regardless of your stance on today’s politics, the first step in affecting change is casting your vote in every election. State elections matter. Federal elections matter. There is more at stake than the presidency. Whether you are happy or sad about where the country is heading, it is vital that you make your voice heard in 2018’s midterm elections. The entire House of Representatives and one third of the Senate seats are up for grabs.
But don’t worry, we are here to help you and make it easy! We’ve got your back! Check out the handy table below and follow the links to make things happen!

In 2018, let’s commit to no more excuses. Even if you do not like any of the candidates, take a moment to research where they stand on the issues you care most about. Change can be slow and incremental but it is important to keep your eye on the horizon and keep things headed in the right direction. There will be some road bumps along the way, but if you stay vigilant and get on out there, you will be part of the solution, not part of the problem. In 2018, #WeCannaVote and we WILL vote!
