420 Week Events Schedule

420 Week is back!  Starting on Saturday, April 13th and running through 420 Weekend, you can dive into fun, interactive canna-themed events.

From the 420 Unity Vigil at The White House to theater performance to documentary film screenings to soil building workshops and networking events - there’s something for everyone to celebrate in the week leading up to NCF.

This year, we awarded 3 great high-deas from the annual 420 Week Contest to win a chance to host events in the lead-up to NCF. Check out the winners below:

  • TASTE-BUDZ BAKERY PRESENTS PLAYBACK THEATER: STORIES OF FALLING IN LOVE WITH MARY JANE

Congratulations to Taste-Budz Bakery for entering this dynamic idea into the 420 Week contest! We’re excited to see this event come to life!

  • DOCUMENTARY SCREENING: HIGHER POWER

Congratulations to Rafi Crockett, Executive Producer of Higher Power for being a winner of the 420 Week event contest! Join us at the Angelika Pop-Up at unit Market for a screening and talk with the producers of award-winning documentary Higher Power

Higher Power uses the stories of Black Washingtonians navigating this gray space while fighting to enter the legal cannabis industry to reveal the stark reality of 700,0000 disenfranchised American citizens and the urgent need for D.C. Statehood. It explores how the D.C. Home Rule Act of 1973 marginalized D.C.’s Black community. It profiles Black cannabis and wellness entrepreneurs serving the community through the gray market and Black-owned licensed medical dispensaries juggling the impacts of a global pandemic and competition from unregulated operators. Higher Power shows how the federal government’s control of the District has made a challenging process almost insurmountable, bolstering the case for D.C’s right to self-rule.

Join DC Vote and DC Justice Lab for this very special screening and talk!
