420 Unity Day of Action: Vigil at The White House

On April 18th, the day after the National Cannabis Policy Summit, NCF Advocacy Committee member organization Last Prisoner Project (LPP) is leading a convening of the largest bipartisan coalition of cannabis justice advocates for a Day of Action on Capitol Hill and a Vigil at The White House.

Keep reading to learn how you can take part in this historic action…

Why are they convening?

Although 24 states and D.C. have legalized adult-use cannabis sales and the vast majority of the U.S. population now lives in states with some form of legal cannabis, tens of thousands of people remain in state and federal prison.

It is imperative that as the federal government seeks to downgrade cannabis’ status from a Schedule I drug, advocates are pushing for the full legalization of cannabis, which will require descheduling and effective strategies for undoing the past harms.

What events are taking place and how can I support?

On April 18th, 2024, a coalition of cannabis advocacy, industry, and grassroots organizations are lobbying in Washington D.C. to put public pressure on Congress and the President to take action to fully legalize cannabis, free those still in prison, and provide retroactive relief.

You can join the coalition at The White House at 7pm on April 18th for an evening of peaceful protest and community.

Take action today by signing this petition and we’ll see you in Washington, D.C., during 420 Week!
